I've seen both sides.

One of my first jobs was on a Performance Insights Team inside a Big Four bank, thirty people, dedicated to one division. Our entire job was pulling the data and insights executives needed to run that one part of the business well.

Just in staff costs, it ran into the millions a year. Nobody questioned whether it was worth it.

Since then, I’ve spent years in the NFP world, sitting in strategy days, budget planning and board meetings.

Someone would ask how their organisation compared to others doing similar work. The room would go quiet. Or someone would say, “I’m sure we can find that somewhere.” Nobody ever did.

We don’t call other organisations competitors in this sector, and Vercia isn’t built to make anyone compete.
